A new year, a new drone. I was looking for something more compact, more portable, with still good photo quality (in comparison with the Mavic3pro). In September 2023, DJI released a successor to the mini3pro.

One of the standout features of the DJI Mini 4 Pro is its compact and portable design. Weighing in at just under 250 grams, the Mini 4 Pro is one of the lightest drones in its class. This makes it incredibly easy to transport and launch. The biggest disadvantage of the low weight is the sensitivity to windy conditions.

The drone is equipped with advanced safety features such as obstacle detection and avoidance, return-to-home function, and geo-fencing capabilities. These features help to prevent accidents and ensure a safe and enjoyable flying experience for both novice and experienced drone pilots.

The DJI Mini 4 Pro is undeniably a game-changer in the compact drone market, offering a perfect blend of portability, performance, and advanced features. The vertical gimbal modus is absolutely great to use (and easy for social media content 9:16 format)

A few tips to get the most out of the camera (1/1.3-inch CMOS, Effective Pixels: 48 MP)

  • always shoot RAW
  • only use the 48 megapixel modus in PRO modus and with a fast shutter speed (faster than 1/60). Try to get the best exposure before making the picture (use the histogram option)
  • use the AEB 3/5 (and stitch in lightroom or other editing programs)

It is the perfect addition to my Mavic 3 pro and great to use on short trips. The first shots on the Mini 4 pro on Flickr.
